Ruggero Gigli, co-owner of Villa Gigli Trattoria and Galleria in Markleeville, is pouring Pedroncelli wines from 2 to 5 p.m., each Saturday and Sunday. Taste and compare different varietals of red and white wines, while sampling some of Gigli's homemade antipasti. Gigli has provided the area with the finest Florence-inspired cuisine, which he brought with him from his native country, Italy. His wife, Gina, is an accomplished artist and author, whose works are inspired by the nature around them.

Combine this with a trip to Grover's Hot Springs, for a beautiful day away.

Pedroncelli is a family-owned winery in Geyserville, Calif., a town similar in size to Markleeville, but with rolling vineyards, rather than Alpine mountains as its backdrop. Cost for the afternoon event is $5 per glass of wine and includes three tastes of antipasti. Villa Gigli is located at 145 Hot Springs Road.
